Our pact is to share the experience with another girl/woman who may have or have not fished before to show them another side of the sport. Take them fishing…teach them to fish…touch them with your experience.
Catch it, Clean it…Cook it!
In this program, girls will be exposed to the 3 “C’s”-the catching, cleaning and cooking of a fish. With catching, they will learn how to properly assemble their poles; from tying and baiting hooks to using weights and floaters. They will also be taught hands-on how to catch and retrieve their hooks from the fish. Cleaning, everyone’s favorite part! It may be a little gross at first, but once they get the hang of it, it will be a cinch! The cleaning will be demonstrated step-by-step and the girls will have the opportunity to interact with each other and the fish they’ve caught. The last “c” is cooking. The girls will be taught quick, appetizing recipes that compliment their fish. They will take home the reward of knowing how to catch, clean and cook a fish.
We had a wonderful time at the Rod Benders Fishing Derby July 23rd. Got to the lake around 8:30 am, checked the group in, got our fishing gear and started fishing!!!!
The girls killed them out there! Carissa caught a 2lb. catfish, Harley caught one that weighed right at 1.5 lbs, McKenzie and Kennedy caught one as well both were a little under a pound.
It was so hot we probably drank 10 bottles of water each. We had lunch around 2:00 pm, the fire department came out to speak to the kids about safety, then it was karaoke time! Madison Blair won $20.00 for getting up in front of 249 kids singing the Rod Benders theme song!!! We laughed, ate and then it was time to go…Great big thanks goes out to the Rod Benders Bass Club for a wonderful day of fishing!
These two girls will arrive in Naples Florida on September 30 the itinerary is as follows:
Friday- Check in and have dinner
Saturday-7am-7pm on the charter boat fishing from sun up to sun down. Whatever is caught will be prepared for them by the hotel restaurant.

We would like to ask each of you to make a donation of 5.00 or more to help continue the support of the girls in their fishing experience and education.
